The Montblanc James Dean 1931 Limited Edition consists of 1931 fountain pens and 1931 rollers, referring to the year James Dean was born. The sterling silver holder is engraved with a motif similar to the grille of his Porsche 550 spider. He called his Porsche "Little Bastard", a nickname that came from the movie set of "Giant", these words are also engraved on the grip of the pen.
All other fittings are silver, except for the clip and clip ring, which have a ruthenium finish. The clip is styled as if it were a double-barreled gun, referring to the action scenes as Jett Rink in the 1956 film "Giant", also his final role.
The cap is made of wood, inspired by the handle of the knife he used in the movie "Rebel without a cause". On the silver clip cap is an engraving of a dollar bill referring to an iconic scene from "East of Eden" from 1955.
