Pelikan is expanding the standard collection with the Pelikan Souverän M405 Silver White fountain pen. Bright silver and white bring out the distinctive character of this true classic, the Souverän.

The Pelikan Souverän M405 Silver White from the 400 series is the second smallest model from the Souverän series. It is also the format that has been around since the fifties, so a real classic! The fountain pen is filled by means of a fixed piston mechanism, standard on the entire Souverän range. The striped container is partially transparent so that the ink supply is always visible. The shell of the container is unique in its kind and is manufactured according to a patented process, raw cotton undergoes several processing steps until a thin striped sheet of cellulose acetate is formed. The nib is made of 14 karat gold with a full rhodium mask. The familiar clip, in the shape of a pelican's beak, has a palladium finish, just like the other fittings. This little "brave" Pelikan is a high-quality fountain pen, which we are happy to sell, highly recommended.

In 1926, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1878 - 1929), was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work for reconciliation between nations after the First World War. In addition to his political career, Stresemann also became known for his newly designed tailored suit with thin pinstripes, formal enough for official occasions and comfortable while working in the office. In 1929 Pelikan introduced the first green/black striped fountain pens that quickly started to make a name for themselves worldwide. The striped motif on the holder made comparisons easy and the new Pelikan was soon popularly known as "Stresemann".
