When Richard Esterbrook in 1858 started his pen company on the east coast began, ran one of the most important events from American history just ended. The Gold Rush brought 300,000 people from all over the world to California.The discovery of gold nuggets in the Sacramento Valley a decade earlier sparked the American dream and sparked one of the first major gold rushes since the time of the Roman Empire. 

 This Gold Rush triggered also Richard Esterbrook, who tried to build a better life for himself and his family by seeking wealth in the United States. 

To celebrate the place of the Gold Rush in American history and its own history Esterbrook to honor, is the Esterbrook Estie redesigned in two limited gold speckled colors, the Prospector Black and the Purple Dreamer.
