The Montblanc Patron of Art 2009 Max von Oppenheim. Since 1992, Montblanc has honored important historical figures in science and culture with the popular Patron of Art Edition. This 2009 edition is dedicated to renowned archaeologist and art historian Max von Oppenheim, who discovered the unknown culture in the Far East and made its cultural legacy accessible to the general public. Max von Oppenheim devoted his life to Eastern art.

The sterling silver barrel and cap are colored in a regular pattern with matte gray lacquer, typical of Middle Eastern decorations and frescos.
