Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition 1902 fountain pen
The Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition 1902 pays tribute to one of the most famous crime novelists and creator of Sherlock Holmes.
The 1902 Limited Edition version is inspired by Sherlock Holmes' pipe. The precious resin used is dark brown and the tip of the pen is made of wood. The Montblanc logo in the cap is also set in wood. The metal parts of the pen are coated with platinum. The number 1902 refers to the year The Hound of the Baskervilles was issued. In the same year, the author was knighted.
The cap and body of the pen are decorated with a diamond pattern that references Holmes's plaid coat and with parts of a historic map of the city of London. The center ring bears the author's signature, the logo of his first novel 'A Study in Scarlet' and a reference to The Psychic Bookshop, the bookshop that Doyle opened in London in 1925. The clip is shaped like a magnifying glass, revealing the dog from The Hound of the Baskervilles. At the very top is an ophthalmoscope (ophthalmoscope), a reference to Doyle's medical background.
The handcrafted 18-karat gold nib is engraved with a portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and a magnifying glass, a symbol of crime novelists.
