Waterman Carène Black Sea GT fountain pen

The Waterman Carène Black Sea GT features a glossy black lacquer finish, with all other fittings gilded. The French word Carène means the hull of a ship. The design, with its flowing lines, refers at the end of the black lacquer holder to the slanted transom of a sailboat, while the inlaid nib represents the bow wave. The Waterman Carène shares much in common with the top model from the Waterman Collection: the "Edson." Both fountain pens are characterized by the, unfortunately now rarely used, "built-in" nib, which is made of 18-carat gold. The Waterman Carène offers excellent value for money.
