The Aurora 88 fountain pen, first manufactured in 1947 in response to the Parker 51, is the brand's most successful pen. The fountain pen contains a perfectly functioning piston system and advanced ink guide, created in collaboration with Aurora and the famous designer, Marcello Nizzoli. Unique to this Aurora 88 is the hidden ink reservoir which makes the allows you to write at least a few more pages before it is actually empty. This technical innovation made the 88 the first pen to be placed in the Leonardo da Vinci museum of science and technology in Milan. The "Aurora 88" was re-introduced in 1980. The extremely smooth piston mechanism houses an ingenious concealed ink reservoir good for a few more pages and the beautifully developed 14 carat gold nib has excellent writing properties.
