The Montblanc Patron of Art 2016 Peggy Guggenheim fountain pen. This Montblanc Patron of the Art 2016 is a tribute to one of the most important art collectors and exhibitors of 20th century art; Peggy Guggenheim.

Peggy Guggenheim was a wealthy American lady who met many artists in Paris and who financially supported the artists from whom she also collected works of art. She was married to the Franco-German painter Max Ernst between 1942 and 1946. Peggy Guggenheim lived in the Palazzo Vernier dei Leoni until her death in 1979. The Palazzo was opened to the public as a museum after her death in Padua. In the last years of her life she had focused less on collecting and more on displaying her possessions.t.

The Montblanc Patron of Art Peggy Guggenheim limited edition is entirely in the style of Art Deco, straight lines and sleek shapes adorn the container and cap. On the rim of the cap are lion heads, referring to the name of the Peggy Guggenheim Venetian Palace de Leoni and the lion of San Marco, the symbol of Venice.

The striking red twisted piping on the fill button at the end of the holder refers to the countless bollards that Venice has. On the 18-krt. next to the year of issue, there are two paw prints in memory of her dogs who were always by her side.
