De geschiedenis van het bedrijf begon in 1918 in Pforzheim, de traditionele Duitse sieradenmetropool in het Zwarte Woud, als productielocatie voor hoogwaardige gouden en zilveren vulpotloden. Dit werd gevolgd door de ontwikkeling en productie van vulpennen en balpennen gemaakt van metalen zoals messing, zilver of 18-karaats goud. 

Everything that leaves the company's own production is made by skilled craftsmen with many years of experience using traditional craftsmanship techniques, who still perform meticulous and loving handwork. The enthusiasm for innovation, modern techniques, and filigree craftsmanship is a long-standing tradition. Just like in the founding year, Waldmann still manufactures 100% of its writing instruments in Germany today, which is why the products from the Waldmann factory rightly bear the signature "Made in Germany".
